The Red Coats May Have Just Been Tired

Lexington and Concord

It was so cool to be in sure historical sites!  This whole trip has been a history teacher’s dream.  I truly enjoyed looking at the lay of the land and imagining the Regulars marching through the towns, which by the way, I feel was quite an accomplishment for anyone, even the Regulars.  Could you imagine how tired they must have been once they got through Lexington and continued into Concord, and I thought I was tired!  Maybe Concord would have had a different outcome if the Patriots and Minute Men were dealing with fresh soldiers.  We all seem to want to run away when we are tired.

  1. Hi Dana,
I too felt like a dream come true. I had not thought how tired the Regulars must have been. I believe if both sides had been rested we might have seen a different future. The Regular uniforms must have been unbearable to wear. Maybe that was an advantage for the colonies.
